Beauty Tips & Trends | New At Sephora January 2017

Starting fresh is typically what we all strive for at the top of a new year. Whether we change our attitude and/or a behaviour or habit, we always seek to leave the previous year behind and become better than we were. HOWEVER, for us makeup addicts, this also includes changes, adjustments or new additions to our beauty regimen. New year, new makeup! There’s no better feeling than walking into Sephora (or even MAC, NYX, etc) to see what’s new. These five products are brought up in conversations, in YouTube videos, on my Instagram feed…so I had to talk about them! Happy New Year everyone…let’s slay in 2017!

1. Kat Von D: Alchemist Holographic Palette

I live for highlighting. If I don’t glow, it’s a no. Some people (my dad) don’t understand it but for those that do, I appreciate you! For the most part, I have stuck to the basics when it comes to highlighting – something golden, or white gold, nothing like what this palette has to offer. Kat Von D continues to pioneer her brand the same way she did her works of art…to stand out, maybe not intentionally, but we can’t look away regardless. This palette is going to be a must have. I have done some research and the swatches are irresistible and beautiful! One of those products that make me wanna put it on my face and dip my body in it.

2. Sephora Collection: Cream Lip Stain

I first found out about these from one of my absolute favourite YouTubers, ShaaanXo. She reviewed the collection so graciously as she does. I have fallen for the versatile colours and shades (I currently have my eyes on the shade Dark Forest because I live for unconventional things like green lipstick).

3. Nars: Narsissist Unfiltered Cheek Palette

I first want to emphasize how CLEVER Nars is for branding a collection with the name “Narsissist.” It’s great. And so are these cheek palettes. Nars is famous for their Orgasm blush (I think we all have it) so it only makes sense for them to channel that popularity into suuuuper palettes like these ones.

4. Tarte: Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight and Contour Palette

Tarte is doing it all these days and I’m all for it. My love for Tarte is unwavering…as well as my love for highlighting and contouring palettes. They make travel easier and they’re just so convenient as an all in one. I admire that these shades are versatile and universal (as seen on the product page of Sephora’s website) for all shades. I would like to see it expand like the Anastasia contour palettes did because well, we deserve these kinds of options. Whether you’re going for a soft glow for the daytime, or a chiseled goddess contour for the nighttime, this palette will do all of that and more.

5. Too Faced x Kat Von D: Better Together Ultimate Eye Collection

I’ve talked about my admiration for Kat Von D. Now, Too Faced, you know I love them too. Put the two together and you’ve got this sweet and gothic collaboration that is almost too perfect of a metaphor for the person that I am (I’m laughing as I type this). It brings the two worlds together in a way that allows you to go from day to night all in one kit!
