Tips & Trends | The Lazy Girl’s Guide To Surviving Fall

Share via:

It’s that time of year again, summer is over and fall has begun. Which for us ladies, could mean a number of things – pumpkin spice latte is back, chunky sweaters are socially acceptable again, and whether it be school or work, long hours are here to stay. Let’s be honest, getting back into the swing of things may not be the easiest – the unbearable thought of waking up and having to make ourselves appear presentable enough for a school or work environment is down right tough to think about, especially on only a few hours of sleep.

Wouldn’t life be easy if we all had a glam squad?! Until then, here are a few tips to help getting into routine a little more bearable this fall!

High Ponytail

Woke up late and your hair is a tad greasy? That’s ok, just throw it up. By far the easiest hair trend so far, the high ponytail is super cute and works for any occasion. Just take your hair and bring it up to the highest point on the back of the crown and tie it any which way you want. A few strands down in the front or slicked right back – it’s completely up to you and how ever you feel comfortable.

Half Up Top Knot

Another easy and efficient hair do is the top knot. We’ve seen it on many celebrities, such as the Olsen twins, Kardashians, even J.Lo rocks this look! After trying it, we can understand why! Taking the front half of our hair and pulling it into a messy bun on the top of the head, then straightening or throwing a few waves into the bottom half that is left down, creates a put-together look that keeps hair out of the face! This takes roughly 3-8 minutes and looks absolutely effortless, in a good way. This is definitely a trend we hope stays around for a little while!

Light Eye Liner

When those early morning hours come around after what seemed like a sleepless night, naturally, our eyes might look a little tired. Have no fear, anything can be fixed with a little makeup. Choose a light colour of eye liner, such as a nude, white or light shade of any colour and run it on your waterline. This will actually make your eyes appear wider and brighter and takes less than a minute of effort for both eyes! A perfect way to look refreshed for those gloomy mornings ahead!

Blush or Bronzer

If you’re anything like me, when I get the chance to get some sun, I try everything to maintain the little bit of a tan I may have. Sadly as fall comes and summer leaves us, so does the last bits of sun kissed skin. On a cold morning, when you might feel pale and perhaps dull, theres nothing wrong with adding a little bit of colour to your face. Take a few minutes to brush a small bit of bronzer to enhance a natural glow and a swipe your favourite blush to brighten up your cheek bones. Although, be cautious of how much you apply –  in this case, a little goes a long way!
