It probably goes without saying, but jeans are the one pair of pants we can rely on day in and day out. They come in all shapes, colours and sizes, they’re beyond easy to style, and we can almost bet each and every person has a ‘go-to’ favourite pair. Every season, thanks to the trusty fashion gods, we don’t toss away our denim. Instead, we add new washes, cuts, and trends to our denim collection. For this spring, it’s all about adding some fun to our wardrobes with raw hem lines, embellishments, fringes, and patchwork. Every denim trend this season takes style to the absolute next level, and we could not be more excited about it.

Raw Hemline

The raw hem is a regular pair of jeans but just cut up at the bottom. You can find this style with different angles and cuts at the hem and the best part is, you can do it yourself. If you have an old pair of jeans you weren’t sure what to do with, grab some scissors and be creative!

Embroider

This trend might be the most fun of all denim trends this spring, but it also might take a little time to get used to. Some styles are definitely bolder than others, but once you stumble upon a pair that works for you, don’t be afraid to try them out. It’s not often that we wear jeans with embroidered flowers and butterflies, so we might as well take advantage of this adorable style while we can.

Patchwork

Patchwork is a recent addition to the spring denim styles and the DS team is loving it. No pair the same as the next, patchwork denim is a cool way to add a little boost to our everyday styles. Like embroidered denim, patchwork can get a little crazy, more patches, more colours, more block work. If you’re into that like we are, then embrace it because this is a style DS hopes stays around for a good while!

The Mini

Remember when denim mini skirts were a thing? Fast forward to spring of 2017, they’re back and just as cute. Paired with anything, the mini skirt works its magic by elongating the leg, but don’t let it fool you, this little denim number is just as good dressed up as it is dressed down.

This spring is all about expressing personal style and being comfortable in our own skin, so don’t be afraid to try some of these funky styles and make them your own!
