Fashion News | TWFW Rachel Sin SS/FW 2017 Recap

This weekend marked the first ever Toronto Women’s Fashion Week, and I had the opportunity to attend a few shows, one of them being Rachel Sin’s. Sin’s Kizz Me on the Runway presentation of her SS/FW17 collection was inspired by Kizomba dance, and it definitely showed in the flowing movement of the more romantic pieces. Part of the collection was done in hues of powder blue and soft pink, which helped add to the romantic, fresh vibe.

Sin’s past experience in architecture certainly shows in her designs, from the streamlined silhouettes, the interesting cutouts, and overall fit of the clothes. The little details in each piece made them extra special, from expertly placed ruffles, to sexy lace-ups.

The other half of the collection was done in a palette of black, white, grey, and burgundy, with pops of dark blue, which gave it a very sleek, modern look. As a whole, the collection was fun, feminine, and modern. The colours and silhouettes paired well with each other to create a number of different combos for the creative professional.
