Tips & Trends | Beauty Essentials for Camping

Most of us have been there, stuck in the middle of the forest fighting to stay cute in the midst of all the mosquito bites, poison ivy, and maybe even a potential sunburn. Even if you love the outdoors, it can be a struggle to love all the natural enemies that come with it, but lucky for you, I have comprised a list of essential beauty products that will help you fight off mother nature.

Charity Pot

In the summer months, most of us are susceptible to getting sunburnt. If the sun is your worst enemy, Charity Pot from Lush is an excellent hand and body lotion to use as an after sun care treatment. The reason why is because it contains tons of pure and fresh aloe vera that is especially excellent for soothing sunburns. Charity Pot doesn’t contain alcohol like other after sun care treatments that irritate rather than soothe the skin. Also, if you want to feel good about buying something as nourishing as Charity Pot, you can sleep well at night knowing that 100 percent of the purchase price of this product goes to grassroots charities that are affiliated with Lush.

Aveda Shampure (Dry Shampoo)

When you’re camping for a few days, there isn’t any time to make your hair look perfect. After a couple of days without washing, your hair’s natural oils will start to come out. That’s why I highly recommend using a dry shampoo like this one from Aveda. Aveda’s Shampure is a non-aerosol powder mist that absorbs excess oils in the scalp between shampoos. Shampure is a great product to help add texture to the hair as well if you’re going for that “just been camping for five days, but it still looks amazing” look.

Pacifica Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes

Even though you’re out surviving the forest, you still might want to keep your skin looking fresh and clean. The easiest way to accomplish this is through cleansing your skin with Pacifica Coconut Water Wipes. These wipes will refresh your skin morning and night while removing any excess oil, toxins, and makeup. These wipes contain papaya to keep your skin looking bright, a natural exfoliant to get rid of dead skin, and aloe vera to help soothe your sunburns.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment

Makeup isn’t necessary while you’re camping for a couple of days, but it is extremely important to apply lip balm to keep your lips hydrated especially when you’re out in the sun for long periods of time. Fresh Sugar Rose will keep your lips hydrated, adds a hint of colour to your lips and protects your lips from Mr. Sun.

OFF! Active Sweat Resistant Insect Repellent

Of course, last but not least, this list would not be complete without bug spray. In this particular instance, we recommend sweat resistant bug spray. It is important that this becomes a part of your daily routine and to apply every couple of hours for maximum protection. No one wants the irritation of bug bites no matter how satisfying it may be to scratch them.
