Ahhhh, mustard yellow. It can be intimidating if you’re not a hot dog (mom jokes are fun), but Cosmopolitan is deeming it the IT colour on and off the runway and I couldn’t agree more. I love how challenging of a colour it is to work with, yet when you make it work, it is show-stopping. I’ve trained my eyes to see the “it goes with everything” colours as black and nude, but some colours, especially mustard yellow can actually fall under this category too. It’s all about how you choose to style it, as well as how you rock it!

An outfit should always tell a story and have a vision. I’m learning more and more how important it is to use colour in your wardrobe to do both of those things. Mustard yellow is a great colour to accessorize with or even wear through a pattern, which Cosmo suggests as a starting point if you don’t want to take a leap right into wearing it fully. It’s easy to get lost in colour so find what works best for you and your comfort level, whether it’s a pair of shoes or a handbag.
