Let’s face it, a conversation about getting motivated to go to the gym can sometimes be cringe-worthy. Well, for me anyway (lol). My trick to get motivated, and this may sound absolutely absurd, is to treat myself to a new piece of gear. It can be anything pertaining to fitness but I’ve somehow trained my mind to associate this with motivation. Listen, I’m human and there’s a method to my madness, I swear. I understand the gym is not a fashion show but I still enjoy expressing my style through gym attire/gear.
I know a lot of people despise the mantra: “new year, new me” but I find comfort in it actually. Knowing I can start a new year fresh with new goals, new mountains to climb and new heights to reach is enough motivation to get after each thing I want to accomplish. You have to start somewhere!
Fitness is always at the top of my list, just as a means of staying healthy and staying fit because let’s face it, no matter how much you try to convince yourself that you’re immortal or untouchable…evidently, you’re not. As I get older, I find new ways to improve my health and state of mind. Fitness happens to be a great way for me to pursue just that! I know it doesn’t come easy, but if you have a similar goal like myself, I’ve compiled a list of 4 different pieces of gear you can treat yourself to that will help you get motivated! These are just examples, but go with the flow and according to your taste! Let’s slay 2018 ladies and gentlemen!
