First, let’s take a moment to appreciate the wonder and magic that is Rihanna in head to toe snake print:
Now that we’ve done that, with a little help from none other than Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner (thank you ladies), let’s talk about snake print, baby!
It seems as though 2018 is revisiting and recycling many trends from the early 2000s-onward and I’m not mad about it at all. Whether you’re on board with a trend or not, the role of a fashionista is to make it look fresh, modern and new again. That’s the best part about it! Glamour writes: “this season’s take on snakeskin is about making a calculated statement: with a boot here, a printed skirt there…no need to overcomplicate.”
Like any print, snake skin can be intimidating at first. While it takes some bravery to wear and style, it’s a must have because of its standout qualities; it adds texture and depth to any outfit. Grabbing inspo from the runway is a helpful way to incorporate trends into “real life,” on a day to day basis. “Brands like Zimmermann, Rochas, and Tory Burch wove snakeskin prints into their fall 2018 collections as accents or one-off pieces, presenting the eye-catching pattern in a way that feels much more approachable” (Glamour, 2018). In other words, wearing a bold piece shouldn’t make you uncomfortable; it should make you feel fierce!
