Tips & Trends | Spring 2017 Trend Forecast

Even though it feels like a long time away, spring is just around the corner. Soon we’ll be able to trade in our parkas for light jackets once the weather starts to warm up a bit. Here’s a look at some of the biggest trends to look forward to in the coming season. (Related: see Best of Paris Couture Week 2017 to check out some additional trends that will be popping up everywhere soon).

1985

The 80’s are back! Bright colours, shoulder pads, glitter, and short skirts graced many a runway. To make this trend a little more wearable, go with just one element of it in your outfit, say exaggerated shoulders on your jacket or a bright colour combo.

Doll Parts

Babydoll dresses and soft pinks were another runway staple. The light, flowy dresses are perfect for spring as they can stand alone on warmer days or still be a great choice for cooler days with a little layering. The pastel colours are neutral enough that it makes pairing it with other colours a breeze.

Physical (You’re So)

Athleisure has never really gone away, it’s just altered its look slightly with each passing season. Spring 2017’s take on it is more fashion and less athletic. Streamlined silhouettes, colour blocking, and matching separates make this athleisure’s sexiest reinvention yet.

Sheena is a Punk Rocker

A more unexpected trend for spring, punk inspired looks are back. A bit more sheer and less leather than we’re used to, these looks still pack a punch. Paired with combat boots and plenty of eyeliner, you’ll be rockstar ready.

Bad Romance

Florals and romantic inspired pieces aren’t exactly new for spring, but this season a few simple details have given them new life. A bit more edgy than before, tough accessories, embroidered hearts and animals, along with lots of darker colours, this trend has been given new life.
