I always align the word “fashion” with the word “freedom” because they are synonymous with one another. There’s no better way to express yourself than through what you wear. You know that old saying that goes “you are what you eat”…well, “you are what you wear,” too. If that’s the case, then that to me is freedom. Making a choice to wear what you feel is the most authentic to who you are as a person is the most freeing and liberating exercise. Sometimes, when we’re not making that choice, we are taking a chance. Taking a chance to step out of who we are; our comfort zone. That’s what animal print is all about.
The Evening Standard said it and I’ll say it again: “basically guys, it’s a jungle out there.” Could that be truer? Absolutely not!
Luckily, animal print isn’t new around here. It’s been a prevalent and go-to pattern for years, season after season. I’ve actually lost track of how many times it’s been on-trend…frankly, I don’t think it will ever be off-trend.
In general, prints are always a great way to make a statement. They are super versatile and come with a super badass vibe. I love that you can mix animal print with other patterns and palettes without looking like the animal yourself (unless that’s what you were going for, be your fierce self, sis!). There are so many ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe too. I love a good jacket for the fall, or even a handbag to carry your everyday essentials. However you wear it, you know you will be standing out!
