Tips & Trends | Who said school bags cant be stylish?

It’s that time of year again… bright yellow buses rule the streets, and your school is flooded with new students wearing lanyards draped around their necks and over stuffed Jansport backpacks weighing them down. The bag you use at school is an important pick for us ladies – it has to fit all of our needs, i.e. cute, versatile, stylish, and most importantly, it has to fit all of our ‘stuff’. Nothing is worse than being the third year that everyone assumes is a freshman based on our accessories, right? Luckily, we’ve picked out a few styles that we think will be perfect for any back-to-school experience, so get shopping, school starts next week!

Leather

As we get older, we start to appreciate the little things, like how much more we love leather bags rather than canvas – am I right? In all seriousness, a leather bag is classier and in some ways more ‘grown up’. Yes perhaps the fun details, like monster eyeballs are not all that professional for the working world but we’re one step closer to the real world when we decide to carry our 75-pound textbooks in leather backpacks.

Texture

This year is all about the textured look. If you don’t believe us, then count how many fur slides and suede pieces you see on Queen Street. Trust us, there’s a lot. Adding texture to traditional pieces is fun. It adds a bit of creativity and allows people to get to know your fun side! Remember, we’re still young, so if you want to use the pink fur backpack this year, go ahead, because there’s no better time than 2017.

Traditional

When shopping for school bags, there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing a traditional piece. With brands like Victoria Secret Pink and Hershel Supply Co., there are so many cute backpacks to pick from. Keep in mind that when selecting your school bag, the roomier the better; us girls don’t go light on what we carry around in a day, so if there are more pockets and sections in the bag, you’re golden.
