Beauty Tips & Trends | Get Your Glow with Colour Correctors

If there’s one thing that’s always in style, it’s a pretty complexion.

Now, if only it wasn’t so difficult to obtain!

Skincare and all of its ups and downs can be incredibly taxing. Everything from dry skin, to acne prone skin, to finding a foundation that matches. Sometimes it feels next to impossible, especially when our skin feels like it is four different colours!

You’ve got blue under your eyes from not sleeping, redness around your nose, and discolouration on your cheeks. Lame! How can you possibly be expected to find a perfect match foundation when nothing is even?

Thanks to the beauty industry, things just got a little bit easier, with skin colour correcting tools suddenly on the rise.

It’s like someone out there heard our plea and decided that colour correctors needed to be the It Beauty product of the year (next to matte lipstick). The thing about foundation is that in order for it to achieve the flawless finish you want, you need to have a really solid base and canvas. By using colour correctors on your skin to cancel out the different tones in your complexion, foundation can be applied more easily as discolouration won’t seep through.

The rule of thumb goes that green cancels out red and salmon cancels out blue, but we’ve got a good handful of some high end and low end colour correctors that will brighten your skin, too! Check them out below, Designer Swap squad!

Colour correcting palettes are great because they give you a full arsenal of colours, so no matter your problem, you can even it out without messing with a bunch of tubes and creams.

Of course, if you only have one real part of your complexion that you feel needs correcting, definitely get a coloured concealer to do the trick! It will save you time by being compact and they are generally much cheaper than palettes, so you’ll save money, too!

What do you think about colour correcting? Would you add it as a step to your skin care? Sound off below!
