Tips & Trends | Styling Rain Boots For Spring

If you panic on a rainy day, asking yourself how to stay chic and stylish, I’ve compiled some inspo just in time for those April showers! When I was studying at McMaster University, I remember seeing a lot of rain boots on campus, even on days without rain. I noticed that they can go a long way to complete an outfit in a unique way. I’ll be the first (or second, because sometimes I deny how dramatic I can be) to admit that I get absolutely frantic if I have to be out in the rain (it’s usually on days when I straighten my hair too, go figure). However, it’s not all that bad. Not to sound corny, but sometimes you have to choose to be sunshine even when the clouds cover the sky! So, the best way to be sunshine on a rainy day is dressing for it and taking it on like a champ! 

Rain boots are simply the most practical addition to your rainy day outfit. Not only will they keep you relatively dry, they can also look pretty darn cute as well. They can be a bit intimidating at first but with the right pieces, you can style them to fit your aesthetic and level of comfort. The truth is, any type of footwear meant to withstand sucky weather is a great investment in my opinion. Whether you’re siding with a pair that’s more gentle on your bank account or spending a hefty amount on a pair of Hunter rain boots (with the socks to go along with them), there is always a cool way to style them on a rainy day.

With spring on its way, comes loads of bright colours and patterns. I love that rain boots come in a range of different colours in order to offer your wardrobe a bit of versatility. The thing is, a neutral pair is a great way to compliment any look you’re aiming for, but choosing a pair in a bright colour gives your rainy day ‘fit a statement, aka the sunshine I was talking about before.

Rain boots also come in different heights and styles so you can really be creative when putting together an outfit to take on the rain. Taller boots are the most popular, giving the most coverage and protection from the rain but I’ve also seen some great booties that look equally as fabulous!

All in all, don’t let the weather deter you from expressing yourself through your style! There’s always a way. Let the rain water your creativity!
