This past year has been all about statement pieces – we’ve seen pearl framed sunnies, embroidered denim, embellished leather but truthfully, nothing is as fun as the footwear opportunities the fashion world has given us. I don’t know about you guys, but last year we couldn’t help but be infatuated with the thigh-high boot trend. Something about it was so chic and sexy, not to mention, an extremely easy way to throw on a sweater dress and not look like you were too lazy to try that day. This year the boot trend has been changed a little bit and honestly, we might be loving it even more. Re-introducing into the fashion world, the slouchy leather boot, perfect for casual days but also a statement for nights out. Be on the lookout for a pair with a pointed toe, the slouch of the leather gives a laid-back vibe, while the point will elongate and slim the leg creating a more elegant silhouette.

The Metallic Bootie

Ok, we might be a little bit obsessed with these gems. Yes, they can be very intimidating when you see them, but we promise, paired with the right look, they are absolutely adorable. The metallic bootie is a great way to add a little sparkle to any look. They work perfectly with just jeans and a t-shirt, but they’re also a lot of fun to play dress up with. They’re a good way to add just a little something extra to your look, without actually having to try – you were going to wear shoes anyways, right?

The Combat Boot

This is one look that we are very excited has come back to us. The combat boot has made an appearance in our fashion world a couple times before, but this time around, they came along with an absolutely new take on the trend. We’re starting to see the military-style boot embellished with pearls, leather flowers, zippers… you name it. Of course, this boot can be styled with anything, but this year was emphasizing the grungy girl and pairing them with cute skirts and dresses. It’s such an effortless look and need we remind you of how much comfier it is to walk miles in a combat boot rather than a 6-inch stiletto.
