Tips & Trends | Now Trending: Spring Accessories

As we come into spring, not only do we struggle with the changing of our wardrobes, but our accessories also take a hit. Are statement necklaces still a thing? Can we still wear gold with silver? Do gladiator sandals still exist? Who really knows these days! Jewelry, sunglasses, bags, and so on, are all part of the forever rotating fashion industry that we all love so dearly.

Keeping up with on trend styles can most definitely seem impossible, but lucky for you, we’ve got it covered. These are a few of our favourite spring accessories that we’d love to try!

Chokers

This trend throws us right back to the 80s and 90s, the years of scrunchies and butterfly clips – thankfully those accessories stayed back there. Can you remember dragging your mom in to Claire’s or Ardene’s to get your hands on the coolest new chokers? If everyone else had them, naturally we needed them too. This spring, the choker trend is a little different then it was in the 90s. They come in all different colours, sizes and some even have cute little charms. We love to throw on a sleek black choker to vamp up any outfit. Skip Ardene’s and Claire’s and head over to ASOS and check out all the different choker styles they have to offer.

Statement Sunglasses

We all have that one pair of sunglasses that are so very dear to our hearts. For me, its my Ray-ban Aviators. They’re so simple, classic, easy and go perfectly with absolutely anything – whether I’m coming from the gym, beach, or glammed up for a lunch date with the girls, they’re always reliable. But this spring, the sunglass game is changing. We’re seeing mirrors and colours and shapes we’ve never seen before. Its all so exciting, and can sadly be very expensive if we want to keep ourselves in the designer name game. Hello Perry offers sunglasses in the most gorgeous colours and shapes for nowhere near the gut wrenching price of real Dior, but if you’re still set on getting your hands on a designer pair, browse our shop to see if one catches your eyes!

Classic Watches

In the past few months, we’ve seen a revolution when it comes to watches. We went from bulky, gold bedazzled Micheal Kors, to thin clean leather bands. Don’t get me wrong, gold watches are a fashion statement that we’ll never give up, but on a day to day basis, you can never go wrong with a classic, thin faced Daniel Wellington. Available in two sizes, with a wide range of interchangeable bands, it is impossible to get bored of this beauty. Sport a brown leather band at work for a more professional look, and swap it for a colourful fun canvas for this weekend’s patio sangria party!

Purse Charms

This trend for spring accessories is one that we are extremely excited about. Its pretty cool to have the ability to further express ourselves through an already extremely personal part of us women. A purse is pretty much our entire life shoved into a little bag, but what people don’t get to see is all the little details inside that define who we are. Hanging a pink fur monster off our bags may not be the best way to describe ourselves to the world, but its one step closer – and it looks super cute! This spring, check out Bloomingdales and try attaching some colourful leather tassels or a mini Karl Lagerfeld to your purse, have some fun with your accessory style!

Dainty Rings

Remember the days of having tons of huge statement rings in all shapes and colours clustering your fingers? Well this trend is similar, but instead we’re using very tiny, thin, dainty rings. We love this trend because not only is it fun to mix and match pretty little rings, but its a much cleaner look then having a life sized rose hanging off your pinky finger. The best part is, you can still wear silver and gold together – throw in a little rose gold too, for good measure. Our local Toronto friends at ZANE have an amazing selection in store and online, they’ll surely help you dazzle up your fingers. With rings ranging from low to high prices, its a cool spot to check out!
